In 2020, it was reported that fuel cell electric vehicles powered by Ballard have driven over 50 million kilometres – enough to go around the Earth 1,250 times.
The company’s initial public offering (IPO) was in 1993 on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). Ballard Power Systems Inc. went public on NASDAQ in 1995 where it is traded under the ticker symbol BLDP.
