BEFORE THE BELL: LOTS OF COMPANIES REPORTING INTO A SHAKY MARKET

A further climb in energy prices and a late fall on Wall Street are set to weigh on European indexes at the open, but most traders' focus, in early trading at least, will be on single stocks with a raft of corporate earnings out before the bell.

SAP SAPG.DE , Europe's largest tech company, albeit from the less flashy software side, achieved a €10-billion ($11.2 billion) quarterly revenue milestone for the first time and lifted its 2026 revenue outlook to the upper end of its range.

Software stocks have been making a cautious comeback in recent weeks, partly helped by worries about the chip complex, which were weighing on markets again on Thursday.

In Britain, Barclays BARC.L third-quarter profit is up 12% and it announced a $670-million buyback and other notable results are from LSEG LSEG.L and Sainsbury's, SBRY.L while in Switzerland, Roche ROPC.S and Nestle NESN.S beat third quarter sales.

They have all reported into a fragile market, with front-month Brent back up to $111 a barrel and benchmark European natural gas prices just off this week's four-year top.

Nasdaq 100 futures are also sharply lower hurt by an after market fall in Tesla TSLA.O after its results. Its shares are down around 5% on the tradegate platform.

Given all that, it's not surprising Euro STOXX 50 futures are down 1.25% and FTSE futures 0.55%.
