On October 27, 2026, Boeing shares fell over $20 per share, or 10.7%, after reporting third quarter 2026 results, including that 737 MAX production stabilization is taking longer than expected and cutting its full-year aircraft delivery outlook. This contrasts with statements the Company made on July 28, 2026, in connection with reporting second quarter results that Boeing was "on track to deliver 500 airplanes this year."

According to an article published in The Wall Street Journal on October 27, 2026, "Chief Executive Kelly Ortberg told investors that the step up to 47 jets a month on its 737 MAX production lines ‘didn't go as smoothly' as the previous rate increase, a challenge that affects profitability" and "[t]he company doesn't expect to hit that more lucrative production rate until next year."
