The benchmark BSE Sensex .BSESN was down 1.04% at 74,003.82, while the broader NSE Nifty 50 index .NSEI declined 1.19% to 23,118.60, on concerns over elevated oil prices and global bond yields ahead of this week's Federal Reserve meeting, while gains in IT stocks and HDFC Bank limited losses. .BO
RUPEE:
The Indian rupee dropped 0.4% versus the U.S. dollar to 95.9550, its weakest level in more than a month on Tuesday, but held above 96-per-dollar as likely central bank intervention limited losses driven by surging oil prices and growing bets on a U.S. rate hike this week. INR/
GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 98.965 rupees, with the yield up over 6 bps at 7.088%. IN/
OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:
The one-year overnight index swap rate was up 7 basis points at 6.1%, while the five-year swap rate rose 10 bps to 6.67%.
CALL MONEY:
India's overnight call money rate was at 4.90% and the overnight TREPS rate was at 4.75%.
