Dogecoin market cap

Which figures are used? Dogecoin has no maximum supply, so the market cap uses circulating supply (≈155.87 billion DOGE), not a fixed ceiling. There is no fully diluted valuation figure for Dogecoin for the same reason.

Dogecoin's market capitalization is calculated with a simple formula:

Dogecoin market cap = circulating supply × price per DOGE

Applied to current data:

≈155.87 billion DOGE (CoinMarketCap, September 2026) × ≈$0.086 ≈ $13.8 billion

Why Dogecoin has no maximum supply

Dogecoin launched in December 2013 with an initial 100 billion coin limit, which its creators removed in February 2014. Since 2015, mining has paid a fixed reward of 10,000 DOGE per block, with a new block roughly every minute, adding about 5 billion new DOGE a year indefinitely (unlike bitcoin, where the mining reward halves every four years).

Because the absolute amount issued each year is fixed while the total supply keeps growing, the percentage inflation rate gradually falls: roughly 3.5% in 2024, an estimated 2.8% by 2030 and 1.8% by 2050, according to OKX.

This means questions like “is Dogecoin's market cap bigger than X” don't have a fixed answer: circulating supply changes every minute, so any comparison needs a specific date, not a figure from an older article.

Source: CoinLore historical data. The 2018–2020 rise in market cap despite a falling price reflects continuous supply issuance (see above), not renewed demand. Past changes don't indicate future performance.

The 2021 spike followed a wave of retail interest on Reddit and social media, amplified by public figures, and culminated in a scheduled TV appearance on 8 May 2021, after which the price corrected sharply. The 2024 rise coincided with a broader post-US-election crypto rally. Both are described here as historical fact, not as a repeatable pattern.

Does Dogecoin have a maximum supply?

No. An initial 100 billion coin limit was removed in February 2014. Mining now adds a fixed 10,000 DOGE per block indefinitely, roughly 5 billion new coins a year.

What was Dogecoin's all-time high price?

$0.7376, on 8 May 2021, giving an estimated market cap of roughly $80 billion at the time, during a period of intense retail and social-media interest.

Where does Dogecoin rank among cryptocurrencies by market cap?

Is Dogecoin's market cap bigger than Bitcoin's?

No. Bitcoin's market cap (≈$1.54tn) is more than 100 times Dogecoin's (≈$13.8bn).

How is Dogecoin's market cap calculated?

Circulating supply × price. ≈155.87 billion DOGE × ≈$0.086 ≈ $13.8 billion. There's no maximum-supply figure to calculate a fully diluted valuation, since Dogecoin's supply has no cap.

Why doesn't Dogecoin have a supply limit?

Its original 100 billion coin cap was removed by its developers in February 2014, and the mining reward has stayed fixed at 10,000 DOGE per block ever since, so new coins are issued indefinitely rather than tapering off.
