TotalEnergies has acquired a 25 per cent working interest in 26 Chevron-operated exploration leases offshore the US, strengthening the companies’ partnership and expanding its US exploration portfolio.

Located 150 to 250 kilometres offshore, the leases comprise 24 blocks in the Green Canyon area and two in Walker Ridge, targeting established exploration plays.

Under the transaction, Chevron will also acquire a 75 per cent operated interest in two exploration leases adjacent to existing jointly held blocks.

The deal builds on TotalEnergies’ entry into 40 Chevron-operated exploration blocks in June 2025 and complements its existing interests in four producing Gulf of Mexico assets.

“This transaction with Chevron further strengthens our joint exploration portfolio in the United States. It provides TotalEnergies with access to a new set of high-impact opportunities with the potential to unlock value-accretive, low-emissions resources while leveraging the complementary strengths of both companies,” said Nicola Mavilla, SVP Exploration at TotalEnergies.
