Japan's Katayama says Trump voiced concern over weak yen in summit with Takaichi

TOKYO, Sept 25 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump raised concern about the yen's weakness during a summit with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, Japan's Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama said on Friday.

Speaking after consulting the prime minister's office, Katayama said Trump had expressed concern about the yen's depreciation during the bilateral meeting.

"Takaichi told him, as a general principle, that an undervalued yen is problematic," Katayama said.
