Italy manufacturing PMI rises to 50.4 in September

- The S&P Global Italy Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 50.4 in September from 49.6 in August, the survey showed on Thursday.

  • Output and new orders fell for a second month, though declines were only modest. Export orders slipped for a third month.

  • Employment rose for an eighth time in nine months.

  • Input price inflation rose to a three-month high. Output price inflation slowed to its weakest pace of the quarter.

  • Firms remained upbeat about the coming year.
