European chip stocks rise after Micron's upbeat forecast, revenue beat

** Shares in European semiconductor companies rise after memory-chip maker Micron Technology's MU.O Q1 forecast and Q4 revenue beat expectations

** STOXX Technology index .SX8P rises 0.6%, outperforming the wider STOXX 600 .STOXX index, which is down 0.7%

** A local trader says Micron gave a bullish AI-memory demand outlook, "strong" Q4 results

** "Sentiment positive for AI-related power and tech names," the trader adds

** Among single stocks, sector heavyweight ASML ASML.AS, ASMI ASMI.AS, Besi BESI.AS and Infineon IFXGn.DE are up between 2% and 3%

** Suss MicroTec SMHNn.DE, STMicroelectronics STMPA.PA and Siltronic WAFGn.DE, rise between 1.8% and 2.3%, while AT & S ATSV.VI jumps around 5%

** X-FAB XFAB.PA and Soitec SOIT.PA rise 1.8% and 3.8%, respectively

** STOXX Technology index is up 28.8% YTD including Thursday's session
