Crypto-linked stocks climb as SEC clears path for tokenized securities trading

** Shares of crypto- linked firms rise after the US SEC offered a five-year exemption from many exchange and dealer registration rules for platforms that trade tokenized stocks

** The crypto industry says tokenizing securities could enable 24/7 trading, instant settlement and fractional ownership of shares

** Robinhood HOOD.O, Kraken and several other crypto exchanges already offer tokenized stocks overseas; HOOD gain 3.1%

** Coinbase COIN.O, which says will launch tokenized stocks in US once regulations permit, ahead 1.3%

** Sector peer Webull BULL.O climbs 1.1% while CBOE Global CBOE.Z sheds 1.3%; exchange operators CME Group CME.O down slightly
