Aterian (ATER) is a consumer product platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI)-powered software to understand consumer journey end behavior.
Founded in 2014 as Mohawk Group Holdings, Aterian is headquartered in New York. The company takes its name from Aterian, an ancient sharpening implement used to craft other tools like knives and arrows.
Aterian’s marketing platform uses big data, machine learning, natural language processing and data analytics to design, develop and market products, ranging from home appliances to basic utilities and essential oils. The products are marketed through company-owned and operated websites, Amazon (AMZN) and other e-commerce platforms.
The company’s AIMEE (AI Marketplace E-commerce Engine) analyses real-time data to automate sales and drive performance across e-commerce channels and marketplaces. The entire cycle runs around consumer demand data, product ideas and improvement, marketing and sales engine, and logistics and inventory.
