UK's National Grids lifts annual profit view on strong first-half

By Reuters News

- Britain's National Grid NG.L on Monday said it expects to report fiscal 2027 earnings per share above expectations, bolstered by its investment portfolio and the strength of its power grid business.

  • The energy company said it expects to report earnings per share growth slightly above previous outlook of 13-15% on the strength of its first half performance

  • The company said it expects about £130 million of one-off gains in the first half through National Grid Ventures

  • The uplift reflects two successful capital market transactions within the NG Partners investment portfolio and stronger performance in its inter connectors business, the company said

  • Half-year operating profit is expected to be in line with last year, the company said

  • The firm also said that its half-year net debt is expected to be broadly in line with its annual guidance, after accounting for its $1.75 billion investment in U.S. energy platform Joulent
