- Investment bank Raymond James RJF.N has hired several managing directors from Jefferies' JEF.N consumer and retail investment banking unit, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The hires include Drew Weisman from the leveraged finance team and Steve Tricarico, Russ Shoemaker and Hub Orr from the consumer and retail investment banking team.

St. Petersburg, Florida-based Raymond James acquired consumer-focused boutique bank Financo in 2021, and the hiring of Tricarico, Shoemaker and Orr will expand its consumer and retail team, the sources said. Weisman will help bolster the bank's leveraged finance practice.

In recent years, Raymond James has advised on consumer and retail deals including baby care brand Coterie's $1 billion-plus sale to Mammoth Brands, hair care brand Not Your Mother's on its sale to Henkel HNKG.DE, and men's personal care brand Dr. Squatch on its sale to Unilever ULVR.L.

The bank's capital markets team also worked on several initial public offerings in the sector this year, such as Jersey Mike's JMKE.N and Bob's Discount Furniture BOBS.N.

Raymond James and Jefferies did not immediately respond to comment requests.
