NYSERDA awards contracts for energy storage, renewable projects
Sept 23 (Reuters) - The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority on Wednesday announced awards for eight new bulk energy storage projects and 13 large-scale renewable energy projects.
The projects are expected to attract more than $3.7 billion in private investment, and add 1.7 gigawatts of new energy capacity and create more than 1000 jobs.
The eight projects are expected to add 950 MW of energy storage, and the renewable projects will total more than 719 MW of renewable generation.
NYSERDA said all eight storage projects are expected to be in service by the end of 2030.
The 13 renewable energy projects include solar, wind and hydroelectric facilities and are expected to be operational by 2030, according to NYSERDA.
