Nippon Steel, Slovakia agree public aid for modernisation of U.S. Steel Kosice

PRAGUE, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Nippon Steel 5401.T and the Slovak government signed agreements on Tuesday on public aid for building a new electric furnace and decarbonisation of air separation at Nippon's U.S. Steel Kosice plant in eastern Slovakia, government and company representatives said at a signing ceremony.

U.S. Steel Kosice said it would invest around 900 million euros into the project to modernise the plant for low-carbon production.
