EUROPE BEFORE THE BELL: FUTURES IN THE RED, SEMIS SET FOR BOOST

Most big European stock markets look set to open slightly lower on Thursday, as elevated oil and bond prices continue to weigh on sentiment.

Euro STOXX 50 futures are down 0.4% heading towards the open, while futures on the DAX , CAC and FTSE are down between 0.5% and 0.8%.

Futures on the Dutch AEX are doing better, as some of the big tech hardware names could get a boost following Micron's MU.O earnings after market on Wednesday.

The company's forecast blew past estimates and they said customers had increased commitments under its long-term supply agreements, signalling unrelenting demand for AI memory chips.

Traders are calling for European semiconductor names to open higher by up to 3%.

Tech-heavy indexes in Asia jumped, with the Kospi .KS11 up 1.8% and Japan's Nikkei 225 .225 rising 3.4%.

Nasdaq futures are up 1.4%.
