Julius Baer gains after new share buyback programme

** Shares in Julius Baer BAER.S rise 3% after the Swiss bank announced a share buyback programme of up to 600 million Swiss francs ($724 million)

** The program is expected to launch in the coming weeks and be completed within one year, it said

** Vontobel says the buyback volume is slightly above its estimate of CHF 550 million

($1 = 0.8284 Swiss francs)
