Evonik currently unaware of any BASF takeover approach, says source

BERLIN, Sept 25 (Reuters) - Evonik EVKn.DE is currently not aware of any takeover approach by BASF BASFn.DE, a source familiar with the matter said on Friday, after the Financial Times reported that BASF had recently made a merger proposal to Evonik and its biggest shareholder RAG Foundation.

An Evonik spokesperson declined to comment on the report.
