** The tax, known as TEITLD, was introduced in 2024 and targets the profits of companies managing motorway concessions and airport operators

** Government intends to make the tax progressive, with French business newspaper Les Echos reporting it could more than double for motorway and major airport operators

** The announcement, made by the transport ministry on Monday, is part of a broader budget effort the government has described as requiring "a shared effort" across all sectors
