ECB's Santos Pereira warns of gas price inflationary pressures this winter

LISBON, June 15 (Reuters) - European Central Bank Governing Council member Alvaro Santos Pereira said on Monday that energy products were the main driver of inflation, with rising natural gas prices posing one of the main risks to the price outlook this winter.

Speaking at an event in Lisbon, he also said that refined fuel prices have risen much more than oil and natural gas prices, adding to inflationary pressures.

"One of the main risks we face this coming winter is further pressure on natural gas prices. That will increase inflationary pressures," he said.
