CBOT Trends-Wheat up 12-14 cents, corn up 3-5 cents, soy up 12-14 cents
CHICAGO, Oct 5 (Reuters) - The following are expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Monday.
WHEAT - Up 12 to 14 cents per bushel
CBOT wheat rose following a large purchase from Saudi Arabia and a lack of progress in restoring Black Sea shipments disrupted by the Russia-Ukraine war, analysts said.
Saudi Arabia said it purchased around 683,000 metric tons of wheat, exceeding the 535,000 tons it sought in a tender.
At least one person was killed and another wounded in a Russian drone attack on a Turkish-owned civilian vessel on the Black Sea, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said.
CBOT December soft red winter wheat was last up 13-1/4 cents at $6.96-1/4 per bushel. K.C. December hard red winter wheat was last up 13-1/4 cents at $7.48-1/2 a bushel.
CORN - Up 3 to 5 cents per bushel
CBOT corn rose after falling to $4.95 a bushel. This matched the lowest prices on Thursday and Friday last week, which were the weakest prices since August 19.
Weather conditions look largely dry and favorable for US harvesting over the next week, traders said.
The US Department of Agriculture is scheduled to issue a weekly update on corn and soybean harvesting progress later on Monday.
Exporters sold 129,540 metric tons of US corn to Mexico, USDA said in its daily reporting system.
CBOT December corn was last up 3 cents at $5.00-3/4 per bushel.
SOYBEANS - Up 12 to 14 cents
CBOT soybeans rebounded after setting a five-week low on Friday.
US weather forecasts are largely dry over harvest areas for the next ten days, a broker said.
Exporters sold 104,000 metric tons of US soybeans to unknown buyers, USDA said.
In Brazil, the world's biggest soybean supplier, farmers planted 7.3% of the expected area of their 2026/27 soybean crop as of last Thursday, compared to 9% a year ago, AgRural said.
Brazil's real jumped 4.5% against the US dollar after right-wing Senator Flavio Bolsonaro beat expectations in the country's first-round election.
CBOT November soybeans were last up 13 cents at $12.91-1/4 per bushel.
