Airbus has announced the sale of a further 50 A320 passenger jets to the Middle East state of Qatar.
The deal was unveiled during a state visit to Qatar by new French president Emmanuel Macron. Qatar Airways already has 39 A320s in its fleet, which is dominated by Airbus aircraft.
Qatar has also said it will buy 12 French-built Rafale fighter jets, according to a report on Sky News.
Building new metro
M. Macron also announced that a French rail consortium will build and operate the new metro in Qatar’s capital, Doha.
Defence contractor Nexter has also clinched a deal for the sale of nearly 500 armoured vehicles to the Qatari defence force, according to the report.
