Vale, CSN among winners in Brazil natural gas auction

SAO PAULO, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Major mining and steelmaking companies, including Vale VALE3.SA and CSN CSNA3.SA, won lots in a natural gas auction held by Brazilian state-run oil firm PPSA on Thursday, data from the auction platform showed.

  • All 32 lots offered to steelmakers, metal producers and mining companies were awarded, totaling 320,000 cubic meters per day

  • Winners included Vale, CSN, Gerdau GGBR4.SA, Samarco and Ternium Brasil TX.N

  • The auction was the first held by PPSA for direct sales of state-owned natural gas to end consumers
