Systems Limited, a Pakistani multinational information technology company, plans to increase its investments in Egypt by more than 50% in 2027, with further growth potentially exceeding that rate in 2028, as it seeks to expand its local operations and strengthen Egypt’s role within the group.

The company currently has $10m invested in Egypt, Ahmed Kandil, General Manager of Systems Egypt, said, adding that the expansion plans are supported by opportunities in the technology sector and cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).

The company currently employs around 300 IT professionals in Egypt and aims to increase its workforce to 450 by the end of 2027, with further recruitment planned for 2028 alongside the expansion of its investments and business activities.

Systems Limited is also establishing digital banking services centres of excellence in Egypt for two major UAE banks. The projects are intended to leverage local talent to deliver specialised technology services to regional markets.

Kandil said the company was considering expanding into business services, business process operations and outsourcing, drawing on the diverse activities of its parent group and the availability of growth opportunities in Egypt.

To support its recruitment plans, Systems Limited is cooperating with ITIDA to train fresh graduates in line with the company’s technical requirements. The programme combines three to four months of technical training conducted in cooperation with the agency with six to eight months of practical training at the company, during which participants work on actual projects and interact with clients.

More than 80% of trainees are absorbed into the company’s workforce, Kandil said. Some of the professionals currently undergoing training are expected to work on projects for a UAE bank, while others may be assigned to different projects according to business needs.

He added that retaining skilled employees over the long term is a priority, as the practical experience gained during their first two years helps them develop the expertise needed to deliver specialised projects and services to overseas markets.

Systems Limited provides services including artificial intelligence, software and technology product quality assurance, mobile application and website development, and digital solutions for various industries.

In Egypt, the company works with the country’s three major telecommunications operators — Orange, Vodafone and e& — and provides services to nine of the country’s largest banks.

Its regional operations include AI and data centre projects for a telecommunications company in Sudan, as well as managed services and core banking solutions in Libya. The group also operates in Pakistan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.

The company aims to build on its Egyptian operations to expand the delivery of specialised technology services across regional markets, supported by its growing pool of locally trained professionals.
