Turkey - Factors to Watch on Sept 30

ANKARA, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.

The lira was quoted at 49.0175 against the U.S. dollar at 0425 GMT, after closing at 48.9995 on Tuesday.

The BIST 100 index .XU100 closed 2.40% lower at 12,290.58 points on Tuesday.

GLOBAL MARKETS

Global bonds wobbled on Wednesday and were set for their worst month in years, hit by a toxic mix of deteriorating government finances, a glut of issuances and rising inflation as the seven-month-old US-Israeli war on Iran keeps energy costs elevated.

ERDOGAN PROGRAMME

President Tayyip Erdogan will chair a meeting of the National Security Council (MGK) in Ankara. (1300 GMT)

ENERGY MINISTER

Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar will attend the Turkey-North Rhine-Westphalia Business Forum in Istanbul. (0800 GMT)

INDUSTRY MINISTER

Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir will attend the opening of the Teknofest festival in the southeastern province of Sanliurfa. (1100 GMT)

TRADE MINISTER

Trade Minister Omer Bolat will attend the G20 Trade Ministers' meeting and the ministerial meeting of the Global Forum on Steel Excess Capacity, both taking place in the United States.

OPPOSITION

Ozgur Ozel, chairman of the main opposition New Party, will attend a meeting with his lawmakers. (0700 GMT)

Kemal Kilicdaroglu, the court-appointed leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP), will chair a meeting of his party's central executive committee. (1100 GMT)

FUND CRISIS

Turkey established a fund coordination council chaired by the vice president to oversee the rapid liquidation of investment funds to protect investor rights following a recent fund crisis, the presidency said on Tuesday. President Tayyip Erdogan said new measures would ensure capital markets reach a healthier status.

FOOTBALL

Turkey has detained the head and six members of its main soccer referee board over accusations of interference in refereeing procedures, Justice Minister Akin Gurlek said, calling it the latest move in a "fight for clean football".
