Synaptics gains on revised Onsemi buyout deal

** Shares of human interface semiconductor firm Synaptics > up about 15% at $122 in extended trading

** Onsemi amends its merger agreement to acquire Synaptics in an all-cash transaction valued at about $5.7 billion, down from roughly $7 billion under the previous agreement

** Revised offer values Synaptics at $123 per share in cash and follows an unsolicited competing proposal from a third party

** Deal is expected to close by mid-2027, pending Synaptics shareholder approval and remaining regulatory clearances

** Shares of On Semiconductor ON.O up nearly 6% at $85 after the bell

** As of last close, SYNA up 43.4% and ON rise 47.9% YTD
