Australia shares likely to edge higher at open, NZ flat
Sept 23 (Reuters) - Australian shares were set to open higher on Wednesday, with heavyweight mining stocks likely leading gains on strong copper prices, while potential losses in energy stocks could temper broader strength with oil prices below $100 a barrel.
The local share price index futures rose 0.2%, a 64.2-point premium to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO close. The benchmark gained 0.3% on Tuesday.
New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index .NZ50 was little changed in early trading.
