GLOBAL MARKETS Oil prices and bond yields were higher in an uncomfortable combination for Asian equities on Tuesday, as investors braced for an interest rate hike in Australia and an era where short term borrowing costs settle at their highest for years.MKTS/GLOB WORLD OIL PRICES Oil prices rose for a second successive session on Tuesday as lingering concern over Middle East supply disruption brought about by US-Iran conflict outweighed signs of recovering crude exports from the region.O/R AFRICA STOCKS For the latest news on African stocks, click on .J SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS The South African rand slipped half a percent in early trade on Monday as the US-Iran standoff continued to drive oil prices higher, weighing on risk-sensitive currencies in oil-importing economies. NIGERIA PETROLEUM A Nigerian court ordered the country's downstream petroleum regulator to continue issuing fuel import licences and related permits to three oil marketing firms, saying any refusal would be inconsistent with provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), court documents showed on Monday. ETHIOPIA SECURITY Ethiopia's military and allied militiamen captured a strategic town in the conflict-hit region of Tigray, a pro-government militia said on Monday, turning the tables after an opposition offensive launched from the region last week. ZIMBABWE CENTRAL BANK RATE Zimbabwe's central bank cut its benchmark lending rate to 27.5% from 30%, it said in a statement on Monday, citing relatively stable inflation. SENEGAL DEBT Senegal has hired advisory firm Sodali & Co to help identify its international bondholders, as it starts the process of trying to restructure billions of dollars of its public debt. ZAMBIA ECONOMY Zambia aims to lift economic growth to an average of 7% over the next three years, building on progress in restructuring its external debt, its finance ministry said.
