Zoom Video Communications Inc. (ZM) is a video-first communications platform provider. Based in San Jose, California, the company offers meetings, chat, rooms and workspaces, phone systems, video webinars, marketplace and developer platform products.

Eric Yuan founded the company in 2011 under the name Saasbee, Inc. In February 2012, the company changed its name to Zoom Communications, and in May it was rebranded to Zoom Video Communications Inc. It became a public company on 18 April 2019. Zoom’s shares are traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker ZM. 

Its cloud-native platform delivers high-quality and reliable video and voice services that is easy to use, manage and deploy. The technology allows users to have face-to-face video conversations and links them across several devices and locations in a single conference. The platform connects people through secure video, chat, phone, and content-sharing. 

Zoom serves more than 460,000 customers with more than 10 employees in various industries, including education, entertainment/media, finance to healthcare, government, non-profit/not for profit organisations and individuals.

Zoom Meetings is one of the most important company products. Zoom Meetings provide high-definition (HD) video, voice, chat and content sharing across mobile devices, desktops, laptops, telephones, and conference room systems. It can accommodate up to 1,000 video participants in a single meeting. 

Zoom Meetings is also integrated with tools created by companies such as Google (GOOGL), Linkedin, Dropbox (DBX), and Microsoft (MSFT). In addition, the company has added an end-to-end encryption option for both free and paid Zoom users who host meetings with up to 200 participants.

Zoom Chat, which is included in the Zoom client for meeting and phone customers, enables organisations and teams to work together in groups. Zoom Rooms is a software-based conference room system. 

The Zoom Conference Room Connector is a gateway for SIP/H.323 endpoints to join Zoom meetings. Zoom Video Webinars support video presentations to large audiences. OnZoom and ZoomApps are the company's new platforms that allow users to create, host, and monetise online events.

The Zoom Hardware-as-a-Service offers users access to the latest video technology.
