The company operates through 20 locations worldwide, including Canada, the USA, China, Mexico, and several offices across Europe. Launched in October 2008, the popular service offers media streaming to 71 million fee-paying subscribers and has a total of 157 million active users, located across 65 countries worldwide. The company aims to “find the right music for every moment”, allowing its subscribers to choose from a wide variety of songs – 35 million – and other media content from across the global. In February 2018, the company filed for a direct listing (DPO) with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, forgoing the traditional company valuation route.
