* MONZO: Brazil's Nubank is in early-stage talks with British digital bank Monzo about a potential combination that could value Monzo at £8 billion-£10 billion, Sky News reported on Saturday.

* GOLD: Gold prices fell more than 2% as rising oil prices heightened inflation concerns and reinforced expectations of further Federal Reserve interest-rate hikes.

* The UK blue-chip index .FTSE closed up 0.14% on Friday as declines in energy shares from weaker oil prices were offset by gains in banks and miners.
