Street View: McDonald's gives the golden arches a fresh polish

By Reuters News

** McDonald's MCD.N said its US sales were improving on the back of promotions and marketing, following a decline in the third quarter as financially stretched consumers cut back on dining out

** 37 analysts rate the stock "buy" on average; median PT $305 - data compiled by LSEG

THE HAPPY MEAL EFFECT

** JP Morgan ("overweight," PT: $270) says MCD is in a clear multi-year transition, with a renewed focus on improving existing unit operations and technological functionality, along with a range of customer-facing upgrades

** TD Cowen ("hold," PT: $285) says it views the next playbook as unlikely to deliver tangible US sales benefits through the first half of 2027, while also limiting visibility into longer-term earnings per share (EPS)

** Morningstar (Fair value: $270) expects improvements in digital engagement, menu innovation, service, and operations to bolster its value proposition.

** BTIG ("buy," PT: $305) expects a relatively muted fourth quarter of 2026 due to tough comparisons and a cautious consumer backdrop, but still sees several positives heading into next year, including the new value platform, beverages, and service and quality initiatives
