By Reuters News

- The following are significant news stories, press reports and events on Tuesday. ALL TIMES GMT (Poland: GMT + 2 hours):

DATA

On Tuesday, the statistical office released data on retail sales in Poland for August. Analysts polled by Reuters expect retail sales growth to accelerate to 4.2% year-on-year from 3.9% a month earlier.

Wage growth in Poland, closely watched by the central bank for its effect on inflation, slowed more than expected in August, data showed on Monday.

MOODY'S

Poland's surging debt earned it a credit rating downgrade last week - a red flag to investors concerned that it has little appetite to rein in spending ahead of a national election next year.

NEUCA NEUP.WA

Poland's competition regulator UOKiK said on Monday it fined pharmaceutical wholesaler Neuca NEUP.WA 499 million zlotys ($131 million) for participating in a pricing cartel that lasted more than a decade, sending its shares sharply lower.

JSW JSW.WA

JSW JSW.WA CEO Boguslaw Oleksy said he believes the company's results will improve in the second half of the year and significantly reduce losses, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
