SUBDUED OPEN
Major European stock indexes are a touch lower on Tuesday following a decent jump the day before, as investors awaited updates from the UN General Assembly, where Trump was due to meet with leaders from Europe and the Gulf states.
The ongoing wars in the Middle East and Ukraine will likely be high on the agenda.
Before the meetings, the pan-continental STOXX 600 .STOXX was down just over 0.1%, after rising over 1% the day before, its biggest daily jump since July 2.
Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE and France's CAC 40 .FCHI were around 0.1% lower, while Germany's DAX .GDAXI was down 0.3%.
The retail sector was the best-performer, helped by a rise in Kingfisher KGF.L shares. The home improvement retailer raised its annual profit outlook after a strong first half of the year.
Financials are weak, with insurers .SXIP, banks .SX7P and financial services .SXFP the biggest sector laggards.
