STOXX DIPS IN ERRATIC TRADE AS TECH DRAGS, ENERGY UP

European shares edged lower in choppy early trade on Thursday as bond yields hovered near multi-year highs following Wednesday's selloff, while Brent crude extended gains above the $100-a-barrel mark.

The pan-European STOXX 600 .STOXX fell 0.6%, with national benchmarks mixed.

Technology .SX8P stocks led declines, falling 1% to pare part of a recent rally, while energy shares .SXEP moved closer to record highs.

Industrials, utilities and financials were also weaker.

Almost 55% of STOXX 600 constituents traded in negative territory.
