Indian engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is expanding its role in Saudi Arabia's energy and industrial infrastructure sectors through local manufacturing, project execution and technology partnerships, the company said in a press statement on Monday.
The company, which is participating as an Industry Sponsor at the ongoing 25th WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh, highlighted its local manufacturing facilities for heavy-wall pressure vessels, valves and piping fabrication in Jubail Industrial Area.
These have been in operation since 2023, supporting local supply chains and Saudi Arabia's In-Kingdom Total Value Add (IKTVA) programme, the statement said.
L&T's energy infrastructure portfolio in Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf includes offshore production facilities, subsea infrastructure, crude oil handling and export terminals, platform installations and brownfield upgrades, according to the statement.
In the renewable energy sector, the company is involved in the NEOM Green Hydrogen project, supporting renewable power generation, energy storage and transmission infrastructure.
Across the GCC, L&T's renewable energy portfolio includes more than 38 gigawatts-peak (GWp) of solar projects, 22 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and 3.5 gigawatts (GW) of wind projects.
Its Power Transmission and Distribution business has also executed grid infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia, including the 380-kilovolt (kV) Arar–Rafah overhead transmission line.
In the technology sector, the group is participating in Saudi Arabia's digital infrastructure development through NextEra, a joint venture between LTM and Aramco Digital, which provides artificial intelligence (AI), automation, cloud, data and digital engineering services.
