India's Britannia beats profit estimates on steady packaged foods demand
Nov 5 (Reuters) - India's Britannia Industries BRIT.NS reported a quarterly profit that beat estimates on Thursday, as demand for its packaged foods and price increases subdued the impact of higher costs.
Consolidated profit stood at 7.21 billion rupees ($76.29 million) for the second quarter ended September 30, compared to 6.54 billion rupees a year earlier. Analysts, on average, expected 7.17 billion rupees, according to data compiled by LSEG.
