Canada orders probe into possible action against Cleveland-Cliffs
OTTAWA, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Canadian Industry Minister Melanie Joly on Friday said she had asked the country's competition commissoner whether action could be taken against US steel firm Cleveland-Cliffs.
In a letter, Joly cited an interview that CEO Lourenco Goncalves gave in which he said his firm had bought Canada's Stelco plant to curb its ability to sell steel into the US market. Joly is separately threatening action against Cleveland-Cliffs over plans to cut Stelco's workforce.
