Brazil derivatives exchange A5X raises $70 million in new funding round

- Brazil's A5X, a new derivatives exchange, said on Monday it has raised 360 million reais ($70 million) in a funding round led by new investors Morgan Stanley MS.N, Goldman Sachs GS.N and Kaszek.

  • In a statement, A5X said it was valued at 2.7 billion reais ($524.9 million) following the Series D round, in a "post-money valuation"

  • A5X's current strategic investors, including IMC, Jump Trading, Optiver, XTX Markets and ABN AMRO Clearing, also participated in the round.

  • Separately, XP Inc. XP.O exercised a purchase option and joined A5X's investor base.

  • A5X said the round fully funds the company through its launch expected for the first half of 2027 and during its initial years of operation.

  • A5X said it has raised over 730 million reais in a total of four investment rounds so far.

  • A5X had previously targeted to start operations this year.
