BOJ chief vows to keep raising rates, anchor inflation around target
BANGKOK, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda said on Friday the central bank will continue to raise interest rates with a focus on anchoring underlying inflation around its 2% target.
"Underlying inflation is quite close to 2%. Therefore, we cannot allow it to rise further," Ueda told a news conference after attending this week's IMF and G20 gatherings in Bangkok.
