Australia shares set to climb, NZ flat
Oct 16 (Reuters) - Australian shares were poised to surge on Friday, led by gold stocks as bullion prices revived overnight, while a surprise fall in jobs data dispelled risks of another rate hike and restored the glimmer on equities.
The local share price index futures rose 1%, a 124.3-point premium to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO close. The benchmark fell 0.1% on Thursday.
New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index .NZ50 was broadly flat at 13,849.67 points by 2135 GMT.
