Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company Company profile

The Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company (HOFV) is a US-based resort and entertainment company that capitalises on the popularity of professional football in collaboration with the country’s National Football Museum. In addition, the company does business as the Pro Football Hall of Fame - America’s premier sports Hall of Fame.

In 2020, Hall of Fame became a publicly-traded company after a merger between HOF Village and Gordon Pointe (GPAQ) Acquisition Corp. The Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment stock price is listed and traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ‘HOFV’.

Based in Canton, Ohio, Hall of Fame owns the premier sports, entertainment, and media enterprise surrounding the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In addition, it owns Hall of Fame Village, a partnership between the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Industrial Realty.

Hall of Fame Village is a multi-use sports and entertainment destination at the centre of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s campus. It’s powered by Johnson Controls International, an American-Irish multinational building and engineering company. Hall of Fame Village and Johnson Controls have an 18-year agreement to create the first sports and entertainment smart city in Canton.

The company is pursuing a differentiation strategy in three areas: destination-based assets, HOF Village Media Group, LLC (Hall of Fame Village Media), and gaming. The gaming segment includes the fantasy football league in which the company acquired a majority stake in 2020.

It aims to create a diversified set of revenue streams through developing themed attractions, premier entertainment programming and sponsorships. To achieve its target, Hall of Fame has elaborated a three-phase strategic plan. The first phase is the operation of the Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village. The property consists of the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, the Sports Complex and HOF Village Media Group, which all were completed between 2016 to 2017.

For the second phase, the company is developing new hospitality, attraction and corporate assets surrounding the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The second phase includes two hotels (one on campus and one in downtown Canto opened in November 2020); the Hall of Fame Indoor Waterpark; the Constellation Centre for Excellence, which opened in October 2021; the Centre for Performance; the Play Action Plaza; and the Hall of Fame Retail Promenade.

The final expansion phase may include a mix of residential space, additional attractions, entertainment, dining, merchandise and more.

According to the company’s price history, the highest HOFV stock price was $12.31 a share and the lowest $ 0.62 a share.
