What is AgDevCo?
The Africa Agriculture Development Company (AgDevCo) is a company that invests equity and debt in African agriculture and business. This is done in order to boost prosperity, create jobs and improve food security in developing African countries.
Where have you heard about AgDevCo?
AgDevCo support businesses in the early stages of development. A company must have been operating for less than five years to eligible for a grant and show proof of a strong management team along with a proven business model.
What you need to know about AgDevCo.
AgDevCo operate in eight countries and direct investments are able to be made to those countries. Those participating countries are Ghana, Mozambique, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zambia. Investment outside of these countries may be considered as long as a partnership is formed between AgDevCo and an established business with a regional presence and the ability to operate on the ground at a high standard. The main areas for investment are agriculture and processing for crops, livestock and fisheries. Unless there is a huge potential for growth, AgDevCo do not consider investments below $250,000.
